Radiant & Brighter Business Launch

The Radiant & Brighter business launch was a great success.  Over 150+ people joined us at the Destiny Centre, Shawlands, including representatives from Business Gateway, Police Scotland, Cemvo,  Glasgow Life,  Women in Enterprise,  Poverty Alliance,  Church of Scotland,  Migrant Rights,  Latta Solicitors,  Make That Move,  Jobs and Business Glasgow,  CRER, Social Enterprise Academy and Africa Uk.

Local Councillor Norman MacLeod was there to say a  few words and present our recently-graduated English students, Sami El Haj, Mahmood Musa Ali, Tandiz, Mohammed Azarpanahi, Florinda and Azizi with Certificates of Attendance.  Jackie Brierton from Women in Enterprise, gave some insight on what it takes to build a successful business.  Pastor David Thomson of the Destiny Foundation discussed the challenges and opportunities facing immigrants to the UK. Entertainment & music was provided by the Street Lamp Theatre group and the Signs of Hope Choir.

Everyone stayed behind after the presentations to enjoy some delicious  food and to network together.

We would like to thank our family, friends, students, colleagues, volunteers and guests for giving their valuable support on the night and helping to make the Radiant & Brighter business launch such a memorable and joyous event.

Graduation Day April 2013

On Saturday April the 29th we hosted a graduation ceremony for our clients who successfully completed the 12-week Employment & Career Development course >>

Lots of friends and family came to see Babak, Reza, Tandis, Mohammed, Marzin and Zahir being awarded their Certificates of Employability by Jeanette Houston, their English Teacher.  Jeanette said it had been a great pleasure to work with them all.

A hot African buffet was served after the ceremony and everyone stayed behind to chat and to enjoy some food together.

Business Gateway workshop

Our most recent Business Gateway workshop at the Radiant & Brighter HQ was a big success with the participants. The workshop, led by Chanel, covered lots of topics relevant to starting a small business such as market research, writing a business plan, funding and lots more.

Some of the business ideas being explored were…opening a restaurant, giving dance classes and starting a hairdressing business.

Our next business workshop hosted by Business Gateway takes place on the 20th March at the Scottish Youth Theatre, 105 Brunswick St,G1 1TF between 10am- 2.30pm. The workshop is called Changing Mindsets – Doing business in Scotland.
