Connecting Talent and Opportunity Programme
Equalities Secretary Angela Constance meets staff at Marks and Spencer to hear about their partnership with Radiant and Brighter, a charity which supports refugees and migrants into employment.
Radiant & Brighter Business Launch
The Radiant & Brighter Business Launch was a great success. Over 150+ people joined us at the Destiny Centre, Shawlands, including representatives from Business Gateway, Police Scotland, Cemvo, Glasgow Life, Women in Enterprise, Poverty Alliance, Church of Scotland, Migrant Rights, Latta Solicitors, Make That Move, Jobs and Business Glasgow, CRER, Social Enterprise Academy and Africa Uk. Local Councillor Norman MacLeod was there to say a few words and present our recently-graduated English students, Sami El Haj, Mahmood Musa Ali, Tandiz, Mohammed Azarpanahi, Florinda and Azizi with Certificates of Attendance. Jackie Brierton from Women in Enterprise, gave some insight on what it takes to build a successful business. Pastor David Thomson of the Destiny Foundation discussed the challenges and opportunities facing immigrants to the UK. Entertainment & music was provided by the Street Lamp Theatre group and the Signs of Hope Choir. We would like to thank our family, friends, students, colleagues, volunteers and guests for giving their valuable support on the night and helping to make the Radiant & Brighter business launch such a memorable and joyous event.
