      • Overview
      Culture and ethnicity influence what organisations and businesses choose to teach, what knowledge is valued, what skills will be used, their ethics and ultimately how much potential they are able to unlock within their teams. Our courses explore the current ethnic diversity and antiracism discussion in a safe environment. They equip participants with tools for growth, development and sustainability in the ever growing ethnically diverse economy.
      According to the Equalities and Human Rights Committee, report “Race Equality, Employment and Skills: Making Progress?” published in November 2020, there have been several reports, a Government Race Equality Framework supported by an Action Plan and even academic research ‘all aimed at tackling institutional racism and improving equality for minority ethnic people’ in Scotland over two decades. However, although there has been some progress, ‘the Committee’s evidence shows that progress has either been slow, stalled, or in the case of the ethnicity employment gap gone backwards’.
      The above mentioned EHRC report found that many organisations have a policy to cover them, however ‘what is often missing is the training to underpin the policy’ so that employees are able to address racism and develop inclusive practices in an environment where those in positions of power are enabled to lead the necessary change.
      We provide a suite of Anti-racism and Intercultural Competence services from which organisations are able to choose the most appropriate considering their timescale and budget available to meet the Diversity and Inclusion needs. Programs are designed to provide training and consultative support for organisations/businesses to develop and understand structures and systems in order to achieve their agenda with specific emphasis on diversity of ethnicity and anti-racism in the workplace.
      Services include one on one consultation, organisational support as well as team training courses. Courses apply a participatory approach in a shared learning experience. In a workshop setting with individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities, participants take part in honest, lively and interactive sessions through which they are able to critically analyse information and relate it to their daily working lives as well as personal experiences. Training is delivered in one of two ways:

      Bespoke Intercultural competence and Anti-racism Training

      This is bespoke training delivered to suit the current needs of your organisation. We deliver tailor made courses which look at the nature of the organisation, offering an insight into the diversity needs and/or agenda of any organisation looking to expand the understanding of ethnic diversity within their work force. Courses include insights and experiences of individuals from racialised communities and are delivered online or face to face (where appropriate).
      Organisations also have the opportunity to select the most relevant of our standard courses. All courses are interactive and participants are challenged to reconsider perceptions and unconscious bias while gaining a better understanding of cultural sensitivities.

      Online Intercultural Competence and Anti-racism Training for leaders and drivers of change 

      Courses are suitable for any organisation or company seeking to understand ethnic diversity and benefit from it. Whether you are a small company with a small budget or a big organisation looking to try a new training program, all 4 of our courses will deliver beyond your expectations. Individuals from different organisations come together in a safe learning environment, sharing good practice and experiences in very informative and lively discussions. In a workshop setting, an experienced trainer facilitates interactive sessions through which participants are able to critically analyse information, relating it to their daily working lives, workplace culture, as well as personal experiences.
      Courses include:

      Course 1 -Ethnic Diversity and language

      At the end of this course participants will;

      • Have a better understanding of how to encourage diversity
      • Have a better understanding of language and terminology around ethnicity
      • Have a better understanding of how to encourage and promote equity and ethnic diversity within the workplace
      • Have a better understanding of the equality and diversity policy
      • Be more confident to work within diverse communities.

      Course 2 -Implicit Bias 

      At the end of this course, participants will;

      • Have more understanding of the effects of bias and prejudice
      • Have a better understanding of how perceptions affect the way we work
      • Have increased understanding of the different forms of bias in relation to ethnicity
      • Have a better understanding of unconsidered bias

      Course 3 – Cross-culture communication

      At the end of the course, participants will;

      • Be better equipped to identify different verbal and non-verbal communication traits from a number of diverse cultures
      • Be more confident to communicate with people from different cultures
      • Be made more aware of their own communication behaviours
      • Be more aware of communication barriers and nuances within diverse teams
      • Be better equipped to lead and engage with diverse teams more effectively

      Course 4 -Anti-Discrimination, Inclusion and Anti-Racism

      At the end of the course, participants will;

      • Have a better understanding of racism, antiracism and antidiscrimination
      • Be better equipped to promote and develop a more inclusive, anti-racist workplace culture
      • Have a better understanding of concepts such as allyship and non-racism
      • Have increased confidence in addressing discrimination and racism
